A new season of supercross is right around the corner, and for the first time in about 6 years, the premier class will not feature one of the greatest riders in the sport, Ryan Dungey.
This will be his first year retired, which will leave the door wide open for a new champion to emerge. The most likely candidates are Eli Tomac, Marvin Musquin, and Ken Roczen. All of which are easily championship caliber riders.
The only real thing that is for certain, is it will not be a previous championship winning Ryan. There may be other Ryans in the field, but none that have won a championship before.
That just seems pretty crazy to me. It’s been quite a time since there was not a Ryan in the lineup, so it will be an interesting change, that for sure.
