Unforced Errors

Anaheim 2 was sure expected to be a very exciting race. It was the first race if the triple crown series, and 3rd race of an already amazing season, and this race didn’t disappoint in the least!!

Cooper Webb snatched his first ever Moto win, and his first overall win one week later Blake Bagget grabbed his! These short main even motos really play to the strengths of the guys who can sprint better than go long motos at a high pace, and that played right in the hands of Cooper.

The biggest thing that stuck out to me was the amount of unforced errors and crashes that happened. From almost all of the heavy hitters in the pros.

Roczen crashed and gave away a potential moto win, Bagget crashed, Barcia, the first Anaheim winner, had a massive crash that will likely sideline him for a while. It was just a technical track that really got the best of a lot of different riders. It was very surprising to see so many great riders make huge mistakes, and they were ALL unforced, nobody around, just mental lapses that concluded with a mistake or crash. It’s something you don’t really see happen all that often.

The points are definitely shaken up now, with Roczen leading, Tomac and Webb close behind, and the first 2 race winners out for the count. It’s taken an interesting turn.
