USA! USA!

The 2018 Motocross of Nations team had officially been announced as of yesterday, and this year’s team is a heavy, heavy team, including Eli Tomac, Justin Barcia, and Aaron Plessinger. Last year Tomac decided to sit out the MXoN race, and Cole Seeley took the 450 spot, and due to many injuries, and great off shore riding, Thomas Covington took the 250 spot last year.

So this year is looking to be a whole new team, with all of the grade A racers that we all wished raced last year’s MXoN.

I honestly see this team as being one of the best teams the US has put together since the era of Ricky Carmichael. It features all of what I would say are the strongest riders at this moment in time. Which is something that the US has struggled with the last few years, as they have not been able to put together a team that I think they really wanted to, due to injuries, or just the riders not wanting to race it.

So where will this team end up? I think the last time the US won the MXoN was in like 2012 or something, so it’s been a long time since what is considered to be a favorite team, has won the race. And it is rumored that Marvin Musquin will not be racing, as he has not been picked for team France. Which is a huge surprise, but could be a good thing for the US.

I’m super excited to see what happens this year, I really think the US has a very good chance of winning, given the team is during, AND it is on US soil, that every US rider had ridden on many many times. So advantage: US!!
